WORDS AND PERFORMANCE

Vincenzo Agnetti and Paolo Scheggi, "Il Trono" (The Throne), 1970, wooden structure covered with glossy black plastic laminate, satin-finish brass lapidary characters, 200 x 130 x 130 cm

“We will enter a space with no walls where the point of reference is still the throne, or better, the inescapable system suspended between the past and the future. We will enter exiting, as one does all the time and in every space, remembering, without knowing it, that from the archaic polydemonic period to the scientific age there has always been a systematically desired new present; due to a coercive freedom that could divert us from our natural instincts, from ingenuity, from the forests, from the seas, from freedom. And so, suspended and crowned by the presents that fol - low after one another in a becoming of consciousness raising and re-raising, we will distance ourselves from the story of nothingness – to put ourselves at the disposition of cold order”.
