WORDS AND PERFORMANCE

Presented here is a selection of the results of Paolo Scheggi's investigation into words and language, which began in 1962 and continued until 1971 with interventions and actions, sculptures and installations.

It is evident from these images the evolution of the use of language, first from a formal and visual-compositive point of view (1962-1965), then with an attention to the value of time and temporality with respect to public, scenic and urban space, also inserting the component of music and reciting (1968-1969), and lastly in a conceptual and mythical-political direction, with complex environmental installations where language visualises the metaphysical and palingenetic tension of the fundamentals of human thought (1970-1971).
